Frequently Asked Questions

Guardian is dedicated to providing you with meaningful information regarding your loved ones’ care. If you have questions about our services, below are some answers to pour most frequently asked questions:

To receive home health care services, a physician (often the individual’s attending physician or specialist) must make a referral for care.  In order to be eligible, a patient must meet these requirements:

  • Be under the care of a physician who orders home health services
  • Meet the definition of ‘homebound’
  • Require skilled health care services on an intermittent basis

Most insurance plans cover all or part of home health care, just as with other hospital and medical services.

Guardian is a New Mexico Centennial Care Provider!

We accept most private insurances. We also accept private pay.

Guardian can provide our qualified patients with self-pay plans for services when our patients opt out of using medical insurance coverage or do not have current available medical coverage.

A nurse has different qualifications than a home health aide. Guardian employs registered nurses to administer medications, perform wound care services, perform IV care, and much more. Our home health aides are certified nursing assistants, meaning that they are trained to record and monitor patients, properly assess their health, record vital signs, and provide personal and supportive services.

All of our staff is trained and background checked to provide safe, quality care in our patients’ homes.

Home health and personal care differ in medical necessity. Home health care involves medical training and assistance for your loved one, while personal care assistance aids in the non-medical day-to-day life of the client.
